Lesson plan – Salaah workbook and Quiz

Asalamu alaykum wa rahmatullahi wa barakatu ladies,
I wanted to give you a quick update on what we are using to teach the kids about salaah. I mentioned in an earlier post that I have been using Sheikh Albani’s “The Prophets prayer described as the spine for teaching the kids about salaah. MashaAllah, the book covers so many aspects of salaah, from how to pray, the conditions of salaah, to the meaning of what is being recited.

To accompany this, I came across a superb resource from Islamic Bedtime Stories, which has helped condense and consolidate what the kids have learnt. The sister has made a simple workbook which provides lots of review questions for each area of salaah based on Sheikh Albani’s book, and my kids have enjoyed working through it. Alhamdulillah, I can definitely say it has strengthened their understanding. To download the book, head on over to Islamic Bedtime Stories now!

Now since my kids actually enjoy ‘tests’, especially when they are working together, I made a quiz for them based on the workbook. You will notice that it isn’t overly difficult, and I purposely made it this way so my 7 year old can also take part, but hopefully still be challenging enough and will serve as a good refresher for them.
Click below to download the test yourself, and please do share any resources you are currently using to teach your children about salaah.
